1. Shipping

Dispatch

We normally dispatch orders within 1 business day (excluding weekends and public holidays).

Delivery times (after dispatch)

  • United Kingdom: Typically 2 working days (Royal Mail 48)
  • Europe: Typically 3 to 5 working days

Delivery times are estimates and are not guaranteed. In any event, we will deliver your order within 30 days of the order confirmation date. If we are unable to deliver within this period, you may cancel the order and receive a full refund.

Customs, duties, and import fees

Orders delivered outside the UK and EU may be subject to import duties, taxes, and handling fees. These charges are payable by the customer and are determined by your local customs authority.

2. Returns & Cancellations

14-day return policy

We have a 14-day return policy, which means you have 14 days after receiving your item to request a return.

To start a return, contact us at info@bootle.io with a clear statement that you want to return, cancel, or withdraw. You can use the model withdrawal form in our Terms and Conditions, or write your own statement.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a return, your item must not have been used beyond what is necessary to establish its nature, characteristics, and functioning (as you would in a physical shop). You will need a receipt or proof of purchase. If the item has been handled beyond what is necessary, you may be liable for any diminished value.

How returns work

  • Returns must be authorised first. Items sent back without requesting a return will not be accepted.
  • We will confirm the return address by email.
  • Return shipping costs are borne by the customer.

Exceptions

The right to withdraw does not apply to goods made to the consumer's specifications or clearly personalised (e.g. items with custom laser engraving).

Exchanges

We do not offer direct exchanges. Return the item you have, then place a new order for the item you want once your return is accepted.

EU/EEA and UK consumers (14-day legal right)

If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA or the United Kingdom, you have a legal right to withdraw from or cancel a distance contract within 14 days, for any reason and without justification. The 14 days runs from the day you (or someone you nominate) receive the goods. If items are delivered in parts, it runs from receipt of the last item, lot, or piece.

Unless we have offered to collect the goods, you must send them back within 14 days from the day you told us you are withdrawing or cancelling. We may hold the refund until we receive the goods or you provide evidence you sent them back.

3. Refunds

If you withdraw or cancel correctly, you will be reimbursed for all payments made to us, including standard delivery costs (if any). We do not reimburse extra delivery costs caused by choosing a delivery method beyond our least expensive standard option.

Refunds will be made within 14 days from the day we are informed of your decision, to the same payment method used for the initial transaction, with no fees charged by us.

4. Defective or Damaged Goods

Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us without undue delay if the item is defective, damaged, or if you receive the wrong item. You may refuse to accept the parcel if visibly damaged.

Your statutory rights

  • Within 30 days of delivery: You have the right to reject defective goods and receive a full refund.
  • After 30 days: We will offer a repair or replacement. If the repair or replacement is not possible or fails, you are entitled to a refund.
  • In the EU, you have a minimum 2-year legal guarantee for goods (3 years in Sweden). In the UK, you have statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

5. Failed Delivery & Return-to-Sender

If a parcel is returned to us because (i) an incorrect or incomplete delivery address was provided, (ii) delivery could not be completed after the carrier's attempts, (iii) the parcel was not collected from a pick-up point within the carrier's timeframe, or (iv) delivery was refused, this does not count as a standard return request.

If you want to cancel or withdraw from the contract, you must email info@bootle.io with a clear statement.

If a parcel returns to us without a prior cancellation or withdrawal notice, we may treat the order as cancelled once the parcel is received back. Where permitted by law, we will refund the order (including standard delivery costs if applicable) minus any direct return-to-sender charges and other direct costs we actually incurred because the delivery failed (for example, carrier RTS charges). We will not deduct more than our direct costs, and we can provide evidence on request.
